Liverpool are hoping to land Arsenal winger Theo Walcott, according to The Sun.
Walcott is believed to have held talks with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger at the end of the season over his future at the club.
It is reported that Walcott could be looking for a fresh start in football and Jurgen Klopp is keen to offer him an opportunity to have that at Liverpool.
Klopp is allegedly in the market for a quick attacker and Walcott fits the bill.
Slimani bid turned down?
Arsenal have had a bid rejected for Sporting Lisbon star Islam Slimani, according to Noticias ao Minuto.
It is claimed that both the Gunners and Arsenal have had approaches turned down for the Algerian with the Portuguese giants holding out for his release clause.
Reports claim that Arsenal and Liverpool will have to stump up £24million in order to secure the highly-rated forward.
Slimani netted 30 times last season for his club and a further three times for his country.
Roma closing in on Szczesny deal
Roma are closing in on securing Wojciech Szczesny on loan for another season, according to the Daily Mail.
The Polish goalkeeper had a solid season in Serie A last campaign and Roma are keen on keeping him between the sticks.
It was originally believed that Roma would not pay all of Szczesny’s wages to keep him but they now appear prepared to do so.
Roma would also have the option to buy the 26-year-old at the end of the deal.
Nigerian wonderkid confirms Arsenal transfer
The 18-year-old midfielder posted photos online of him with Arsene Wenger and Laurent Koscielny, as well as him holding up his new shirt.
He stated that his “new life begins” at Arsenal.
Nwakali is understood to have signed for a £3million fee agreed with the country’s Diamond Football Academy.
He was player of the tournament as Nigeria lifted the Under-17 World Cup in Chile last year.
Nwakali had also been chased by Manchester City and Bayern Munich but was determined to work with Arsene Wenger and has signed a five-year deal with the club.

Hodgson fascinated by Wilshere – but for his tattoos!
Jack Wilshere revealed Hodgson was asking him about his tattoos during a walkabout in Marseille last Friday.
Pictures showed Hodgson with his arm round Wilshere appearing to console the England midfielder but the truth was more amusing.
“He was actually asking me about my tattoos,” said Wilshere. “He was asking what they mean.”
Wilshere has got his kids’ names tattooed among other designs while Hodgson has asked others about their tattoos.
Meanwhile, Wilshere is preparing to take the mickey out of Arsenal team mate Aaron Ramsey’s new bleached blond hairstyle.
Wilshere added: “I am not even going to comment because I haven’t seen it in real life.
“I saw him wearing it at dinner and to be fair it suits him. I will let him know what I think about it when I see him.”
