Tourists heading to the United Nations might have gotten more than they paid for on wednesday when painted bodies became public art in nearbyÂ Dag Hammarskjold Plaza. The second NYCÂ Bodypainting Day featured 75 artists, 100 nude models and hundreds of spectators. The theme for this year’sÂ outdoor artÂ event wasÂ â€œWhat the World Needs Nowâ€ and challenged artists to express their views on what would make the world a better place. While some artists and models planned their ideas in advance, others had a more spontaneous approach with one artist even enlisting his mom when his model didn’t show.
