Shaving or waxing has become a routine for many women. But, according to a recent study, this is a dangerous habit that must be stopped immediately.
The study was conducted by a team of scientists led by Andrea De Maria and published in the “American Diary of Obstetrics and Gynecologyâ€. The results showed that 87% of women pay for a private intimate haircut at a beauty salon while 90% of all women shave their pubic hair regularly. However, according to De Maria, waxing and shaving should be avoided.
The skin in the genital area is sensitive and prone to infection, especially when there are small cuts and wounds on the surface caused by shaving or waxing. The area is full of sweat glands, meaning that the region is ideal for bacterial growth. Finally, pubic hair can protect you from STDs, which is why you need to stop shaving or waxing down there.
