Pop star Katy Perry is quite literally willing to get naked for Hillary Clinton’s presidential ambition. The Dark Horse singer will launch a campaign today (27 September) in support of the democratic nominee and it appears to include baring all her glory.
Shortly after Clinton, 68, went head-to-head with republican candidate Donald Trump in the US presidential debate, Perry appeared to confirm her choice of endorsement on social media. In the promo shot, the 31-year-old can be seen completely naked with her modesty blurred and the slogan: “Katy Perry votes naked tomorrow.”
The Rise singer added in the caption: “TOMORROW, I USE MY BODY AS CLICK BAIT TO HELP CHANGE THE WORLD.” Although Clinton is not directly mentioned in the campaign tweet, Perry is known to be one of the former secretary of state’s biggest celebrity supporters.
Perry performed at the Democratic National Convention in July to support Clinton and told the audience: “I love Hillary too. I have a couple of saved messages on my phone from HRC.”
She later discussed her upbringing by republican parents, adding: “Both of my parents are pastors and staunch Republicans. I didn’t finish high school, and unfortunately I don’t have a formal education.
“But I do have an open mind and I have a voice. I’m asking you to have an open mind and to use your voice, because on 8 November, you’ll be just as powerful as any NRA lobbyist. You’ll have as much say as any billionaire. Or you can just cancel out your weird cousin’s vote, if you’d like.”
The Grammy-winning singer also said at a rally for Clinton in 2015: “I stand and I march with Hillary. I believe in her future, her vision. I believe in her policies. [She’s my] firework.”
Perry is not the only celebrity willing to bear all for Clinton. Spotlight actor Mark Ruffalo has agreed to get naked in his next movie if Clinton wins the election in November. The politician seems particularly thrilled by Ruffalo’s pledge as she told People: “For the record, I was planning to vote anyway. That said, Mark’s a true patriot, I’m sure he won’t let America down.”
