Despite being gunned down in a driveway shooting in Las Vegas on September 7 1996, the most infamous theory to emerge suggests the legendary rapper has been living a secret live in Cuba.
Most of the claims have been rubbished, with many wacky theorists accused of using doctored pictures and dubious lookalikes to stand up their evidence.
Yet a new YouTube video called “Tupac is alive new proof 2016” claims it has the most convincing evidence the fallen rapper is still alive to date.
It is claimed the man is “Tupac guys 100% same eyebrows and lips”.
The subtitles in the video state the photo is a “selfie” taken in 2015 on a phone “made in 2011” – 11 years after his death.
It does not say where the selfie was sourced.
The video then plays out a song by rapper Kasinova Tha Don, who suspiciously “sounds exactly like Tupac Shakur”.
Kasinova Tha Don has repeatedly refuted claims he is Tupac.
However, according to Hubpages.com, he has dropped multiple hints on his Facebook page, including the cryptic comment: “2 Souls, One Body”
The video received a mixed reaction on YouTube.
One woman wrote: “The guy in the thumbnail looks about the right age, but I hate to see that he’s wearing a bandanna.
“This isn’t the nineties anymore, show me some real s***, this look like any regular old fool with a nose ring trying to pass himself off as Tupac.”
Another wrote: “I can’t believe it, he’s really alive! My dad is going to be so happy!”
Their story was headlined “Tupac Now 44 Comes Out of Hiding” and included a fairly convincing video appearing to prove their claims.
Although there have been multiple claims Shakur never died, this was the first theory to hint of his imminent return.
The article stated: “Tupac Shakur, who was supposedly killed at the age of 25 is now admitting he has been hiding this whole time.
